PERMAINAN TRADISIONAL SEBAGAI SARANA PENGEMBANGAN PSIKOLOGI ANAK USIA DINI BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL
Abstract
Traditional games are one of the products of Indonesia's cultural wealth which are owned by several regions in Indonesia. Traditional games have many functions and benefits for children's growth and development. One of them is to develop psychology. This study aims to explain and describe traditional games as a means of developing early childhood psychology based on local wisdom. Sources of data in this study are several traditional games that developed in the community. The traditional games chosen are dakon and engklek games. Data collection techniques using observation studies and document analysis. Data analysis in this study used interactive analysis. Traditional games are children's games from their ancestors that have been passed down from generation to generation and have various functions or messages behind them. These traditional games can be categorized into three groups, namely games to play (recreational), games to compete (competitive) and games that are educational. Traditional games are actually very good for physical and mental training of children. Indirectly, children will be stimulated by creativity, agility, leadership, intelligence, and breadth of insight through traditional games.
