PENANAMAN SIKAP KEMANDIRIAN MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN PRACTICAL LIFE DI TKIT 1 QURROTA A'YUN PONOROGO

Abstract

This case study research aims to describe the cultivation of independence in various activities that shape independent character in children through activities at school. Based on the results of observations carried out at TKIT 1 Qurrota A'yun, it was found that several students still needed guidance and coaching regarding their independence in carrying out learning activities and other routine activities, for example children still needed help to fulfill their needs and responsibilities, for example there were several children During lunch activities he still needs the help of an educator to feed him. Therefore, at TKIT 1 Qurrota A'yun seeks to instill independence through daily activities carried out by children or often known as Practical Life activities. Practical life learning activities were pioneered by Maria Montessori, a practitioner in the field of early childhood education who emphasized learning activities through daily activities which were used as teaching materials for children. The implementation of practical life activities at TKIT 1 Qurrota A'yun can be implemented through several habits such as putting on and taking off shoes independently, washing hands before and after eating, throwing rubbish in its place, performing ablution before midday prayer in congregation independently, and the teacher teaches students to eat alone at lunch and eat cake. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation to explore data about the development of aspects of independence in children through practical life learning activities. According to Miles and Huberman, the qualitative research stage is the analysis stage through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing.
