The Ministry of Trade seeks to encourage product quality and competitiveness by increasing the Consumer Empowerment Index (CEI). This is in accordance with the theme of the 2019 National Consumer Day (Harkonas) "Time for Indonesian consumers to be empowered." This CEI is the basis for establishing a series of policies to improve consumer protection, educate consumers on their rights and obligations, and the ability to interact with the market.
