AN ANALYSIS OF CODE MIXING AND CODE SWITCHING USED IN “RUDI HABIBIE” MOVIE

Abstract

The film “Rudy Habibie” by Hanung Bramantyo is a film that has a wide variety of languages, namely, Indonesian, Javanese, German, Sundanese. This film tells the journey of the young visionary. The purpose of this research is to find out the form of code switching and code mixing in the film “Rudy Habibie” and to find out what factors cause code switching and code mixing in Rudy Habibie’s film. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive approach with the method of listening to videos from YouTube and the note-taking method. The results of the analysis of the Rudy Habibie’sfilm are the discovery of a form of code switching consisting of internal code switching and external code switching. And code mixing consisting of words and phrases. In addition, factors that cause code switching were found, namely (a) Speakers and speaker personal (b) Talking partner (c) Third speaker (d) Conversation Mode (e) Conversation topic. Factors causing code mixing is formal or informal conditions when having a conversation.
